Dunya van Troost (1984) started to work as a PhD-student at the department of Sociology of the VU-University in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in November 2009. She is currently writing a research proposal for her PhD-research on the spectrum of emotions evoked in protesters. More specifically, she wants to explore how emotions are related to protest issues and how they originate in socio-political factors of the national and mobilizing context. Dunya previously worked on political attitudes and perceptions of threat. She has an interest in the use of (social) media and framing by social movements. Dunya holds a MA (cum laude) in Political Science and a MSc (cum laude) in Psychology. She obtained both degrees at Leiden University, the Netherlands.
